Our team works with employers of all sizes to design training programmes to meet organisational needs. We tailor programmes around job roles and skills gaps to make the training relevant to your occupational area, within the scope of the chosen Apprenticeship Standard or Standalone Qualification.
Leicestershire County Council, through its adult learning service, offers a range of training and learning options for employers of all sizes across Leicestershire.
Apprenticeships are paid jobs with embedded training. Around 20% of your paid time will be spent carrying out off the job training; this may be in the normal work setting or in a training setting. We work closely with the apprentice and employer to plan an individualised learning experience for each apprentice.
These are career focussed learning programmes which do not have to be undertaken as part of any formal employment, and can be used as a gateway to a new career. Our offer currently includes a number of short courses including: the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) , and the Level 3 Preparing to Work in Home Based Childcare qualification.
GoLearn (Leicestershire Adult Learning Service) offer a wide range of courses and qualifications that can support the wider skills and development of employees in a work-based setting. Courses can include everything from; Digital Skills, English, Maths and ESOL qualifications, to Mental Health Workshops, Learning for Wellbeing programmes and Languages courses (including British Sign Language) which can form a valuable part of your organisation’s employee CPD and wellbeing strategy.
Our service can also support employers undergoing organisational change with a wide range of FREE Employability courses and Careers, Learning, and Work Advice that can be offered to at risk employees to support them through restructure, redundancy and other types of change. Adult Care Workers are the frontline staff who help adults with care and support needs to achieve their personal goals and live as independently and safely as possible, enabling them to have control and choice in their lives. Our achievement rate for the Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Standard in 2023/24 academic year is 92.3%, against a national achievement rate of 39.3%.
Achievement Rates: Business Administrator Apprenticeship (ST0070)
Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike, from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector. Our achievement rate for the Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard in 2023/24 academic year is 100%, against a national achievement rate of 63.3%.
Achievement Rates: Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship (ST0072)
Providing customer service products and services for businesses and other organisations including face-to-face, telephone, digital and written contact and communications. Our achievement rate for the Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard in 2023/24 academic year is 100%, against a national achievement rate of 57%.
Achievement Rates: Payroll Administrator Apprenticeship (ST0073)
Aimed at payroll professionals working in the day-to-day processing of payroll either in-house or as a bureau service. Payroll Administrator apprentices are typically either new to the role, are in post but lack comprehensive experience across all fields of the role or are experienced but lack formal qualifications. Our achievement rate for the Payroll Administrator Apprenticeship Standard in 2023/24 academic year is 81.3%, against a national achievement rate of 57.3%.
Achievement Rates: Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship (ST0454)
The Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship is a work-based learning programme which will give your employees the knowledge, skills and behaviours they need to support learning effectively in your school. Our achievement rate for the Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard in 2023/24 academic year is 100%, against a national achievement rate of 71.9%.

A team leader or supervisor is a first line management role, with operational and project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome.

They work in a range of settings including full day care, children’s centres, pre schools, reception classes and as childminders. They may either be working on their own or supervising others to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements set by Government for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old.
