At GoLearn we will provide you with the support you need to achieve your goals, from Foundation level through to GCSE.

  • Our English courses will help you to develop your reading skills, improve your writing, and become more confident in speaking.
  • Our Maths courses can help you feel more confident in working with numbers and solving problems. Whether you are helping with your child’s homework, calculating your household budget, or tackling data at work, we have something to support everyone
  • You may already hold a maths or English qualification but feel you lack confidence and have lost the skills you once had. From this year, English and maths courses will be free to anyone who has previously achieved a qualification at Grade 4 / C, is currently working below this level and meets the residency eligibility criteria. When you enquire about one of our courses, we will ask you to complete an initial assessment and diagnostic (and free writing for English) to determine your working level. You will then have a follow up appointment with a member of our team to discuss your needs and find the right course for you.

Additional Learning Support

If you have a learning difference, disability, or health condition including any mental health issues that might affect your learning, then please let us know at enrolment or discuss this in confidence with your tutor. We will do everything we can to offer additional support or adjustments in your class as required.

If you need more information, or want to discuss our English and maths courses you can contact us on the details below. Alternatively you can visit our Learning Centres in-person

Not sure which direction to take? Information, advice, and guidance is available to support you to identify your next steps, which might include continuing your learning journey with further courses, volunteering, or employment.

Concerned about the cost of learning? We know that course fees alone are not the only financial costs learners face. Our Discretionary Learner Support Fund (DLSF) is available to help cover the hidden cost of learning like childcare, transport, resources, and exam fees.

How do I enrol?

Below you will find a complete overview of the English and Maths courses we offer. Click on the links to view detailed course information and to see where and when courses are running across the county. Once you have found a course which matches your needs, you can click on the ‘Enquire Now’ button and fill in some basic details.

To better support learners on English and Maths courses, we ask all learners to complete an assessment prior to formally enrolling. The assessment will help us understand your current working level of English or maths, which will allow your tutor to better support you. In some cases it will also allow us to match you to a course which may be a better fit, or to one with other learners working at similar levels to you. The assessment is not an exam, and there is no such thing as ‘pass/fail’.

The assessment is usually completed online, and you will be sent an email with links, login details and instructions once you have enquired. Once you have finished the assessment you will be contacted by someone from our team to go over the results and answer any questions you may have.  If you are concerned that you may not be able to complete the assessment online please contact us on freephone 0800 988 0308, or email adult.learning@leics.gov.uk, to let us know. We will be able to arrange an alternative for you.
