Compliance status

These websites are partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliance(s) listed below.

Non-accessible content – GoLearn Leicestershire Website

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):

  • The PDF version of the Course Brochure does not have sufficient colour contrast, such as the white text in the orange background  on the footer of page 16. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum). We are working with our Design Team to address this issue.

Non-Accessible Content – GoLearn Leicestershire Course Search

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):

  • Some form fields, link icons and buttons do not describe and match their purpose. For example, the ‘First Forename’ field, it does not describe that it is a textbox to enter a first forename. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1.2 Name, Role, or Value and WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships. We are working with the GoLearn Leicestershire Course Search provider to address this as part of their system updates. However, we understand that other organisations have found this an issue.
  • The dropdown menus at 200% and 400% within the hamburger menu are accessible, but not clearly defined to show that they are dropdown menus. For example, ‘About Us’ and ‘Our Services’. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.4 Resize Text and WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.10 Reflow.
  • Online enrolment is currently not accessible to some users using screen readers. For example, users may be unable to complete the online enrolment form. We are working with the GoLearn Leicestershire Course Search provider to resolve this, as we understand that other organisations have found this issue. In the meantime, we have added a screen reader message to advise to contact our enrolment telephone number to enrol on to a course.
  • The use of the text in images such as ‘Enquire Now’ and ‘Enrol Now’ are not supported with written text. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.5 Images as Text. We are working with the GoLearn Leicestershire Course Search provider to resolve this.
  • For users of Apple MACs, when zoomed in at 400%, some of the options in the ‘Subject Area’ select elements in the search panel, such as ‘Adults With Learning Difficulties and Disabilities’ and ‘Learning For Wellbeing – Arts, Crafts & General Interest’, are cut off. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.10 Reflow. We are working with our GoLearn Leicestershire Course Search provider to address this.
  • Some elements of the website don’t have sufficient colour contrast which can make them difficult to read for users with low vision, for example the ‘contact us’ button on some pages and the text ‘Powered by Google Translate’ in the page footer do not have sufficient contrast. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum). We are working with our GoLearn Leicestershire Course Search provider to address the issue.
  • Some tables do not have table headers. For example, tables found on the course information pages. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships. We understand that other organisations have found this issue, and we are working with the GoLearn Leicestershire Course Search provider to address the issue.
