This week in GoLearn! we have been celebrating Sign Language week which is the flagship awareness week for British Sign Language and Irish Sign Language. It takes place every year in March to commemorate the first time BSL was acknowledged as a language in its own right by the UK Government on 18 March 2003.
BSL stands as the fourth most widely used indigenous language in the UK, with an estimated 151,000 individuals utilising the language.
“Every sign learned is an act of allyship. Join us as an ally, learn, share and support us.”
