Please be aware that long call-waits are common on the first day of the programme launch. Our phone lines will be manned by as many of our Business Support colleagues as possible on the day, but we do encourage learners to consider enrolling online where able. If you need to contact us for any reason other than to enrol on a course, please consider emailing us at adult.learning@leics.gov.uk.

Assessment sessions are also now available for our FREE ‘Skills for Life’ programmes including GCSE English and Maths qualifications, Digital Functional Skills qualifications, and more.

30% Early Bird Discount

A 30% Early Bird Discount available on fee-paying courses will be available from 8:30am on Monday 1st July, till 7pm on Monday 30th September 2024.

The 30% EBD is available in addition to the 70% Reduced Fee for learners who are in receipt of certain benefits or a low-income (see below for more detail).

Fee Remission

Many of our courses, such as English and Maths, Better Mental Health courses, and Family Learning courses are FREE to all learners, regardless of income or benefits status. Where there is a fee, you may be eligible for a reduction, depending on your circumstances:

  • If you are in receipt of state benefits you may qualify for 70% or 100% Fee Remission.
  • If you are not in receipt of state benefits but want to be employed, and the course is relevant to your job prospects, you may be eligible for 100% Fee Remission.
  • If you are in work, and your earnings are below £25,000 per-year (before deductions) and the course is accredited (meaning that you are working towards a qualification), you may be eligible to attend your course for FREE. Some exclusions apply, and you will be required to provide evidence of your salary within two weeks of your course starting.
  • If you have a low-income, below £26,211.90 (before deductions) you may be entitled to enrol on your course at 70% Reduced Fee. Income could be from work, pensions, savings, or any other source.

As always, if the amount you must pay for your course is over £50, we can offer instalment plans which break down the cost of learning into a set number of easy monthly payments. If you need help with the wider costs of study, such as childcare, resources, travel, and transport costs, you may be eligible to have these costs reimbursed through our Discretionary Learner Support Fund.

For more information on eligibility for fee remission, paying by instalments and our learner support fund, visit us online or call us on FREEphone 0800 988 0308.
